Vikas Swarup is a former diplomat, television host and best-selling author who gained global recognition with his debut novel Q&A. The book was adapted into the Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire. His second novel Six Suspects was made into an eight-part series The Great Indian Murder on Disney/Hulu. His third novel The Accidental Apprentice has also been optioned for a film. His latest novel The Girl with the Seven Lives was a national bestseller. His books have been translated into 47 international languages.
As a diplomat, Vikas Swarup served in several key positions such as the Official Spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs, High Commissioner to Canada and Secretary (West). He hosted a popular weekly programme Diplomatic Dispatch on India’s national parliamentary channel Sansad TV for nearly two years. The programmed aimed at demystifying diplomacy and making complex diplomatic matters easily understandable.
