Subhasis Talapatra, a legal luminary from Tripura, started writing at an early age, has published three fictions namely Adhek Duar (The Door Half Open), Uddalak (The Wall against the Rushing Waters) and Patamkather Nouka (The Boat Made of Patam Wood). He has radio plays, four plays and several short stories to his credit.
He has edited two volumes of short stories, Asthir Ashwakhur (first volume with Sunil Gangopadhya) and a collection of eighteen novels namely Raag Hansadhwani.
His fiction My Friend Atul will be published soon.
He started his profession as a lawyer and later became Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court. At present, he is a member of Krishna Water Disputes Tribunal and a visiting faculty at the National Judicial Academy.
