Srabonti Ali is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and mental health counselor based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Srabonti completed her undergraduate studies with a degree in Political Science in 2001. She also completed her Masters in Media and Communications from Kings College in 2008; and her Masters in Social Work from George Mason University in 2018.
Srabonti’s first novel, Hope in Technicolor, was published in 2013 by Bengal Publications. It is a coming-of-age story about a group of young adults dealing with the social pressures of living in a society full of contradictions, dark secrets, and betrayal. In 2019, Srabonti published her second novel, Broken Voices which is a story about Amola and her path to find herself while struggling with the contradictions of two very significant influences in her life – her traditionalist grandmother and her bohemian, activist mother – as she navigates Dhaka society and its impact on her marriage, her social circle and her own evolving value systems.
