Sherif Bakr

Sherif Bakr has played key roles in both Egyptian and international publishing sectors. He is General Manager of Al Arabi Publishing and Distributing. He launched the #Different_Books series, which has published over 650 titles from 76 countries. He served as General Secretary of the Egyptian Publishers Association and has been elected four times to the International Publishers Association’s Freedom to Publish Committee. In Egypt, he is a member of several national cultural committees and contributed to formulating Egypt’s Cultural Vision 2040. He also leads Cairo Calling and coordinates Arab Voices, while speaking regularly at international book fairs.
