Pratik Chowdhury is Associate Professor (Retired) and former Head of the English department at the Dibrugarh Hanuman Bux Surajmal Kanoi College. He has taught English literature in the Duliajan College (1983-86), and in the Kanoi College (1986-2017). Besides teaching he has dabbled in theatre; acting in Assamese plays.
Prof. Chowdhury has published articles in academic journals and an anthology of prose for the Dibrugarh University, published by the Oxford University Press. His area of interest includes Partition Literature, Film Studies, Classical Music, Cultural Studies; Philosophy of Science, Quantum Mechanics, Theoretical Physics and Astronomy.
His doctoral thesis was on Imaging Partition: Representation as Rememory in Select Indian English Novels on Partition on December 2024, seven years after his superannuation.
