Paul Lyngdoh is politician and bilingual writer of Khasi and English. His collection of short stories Shithiar Ki Khana Lyngkot, which he penned as a high school student, is now part of school curriculum in Meghalaya. His maiden bilingual collection of poems Floodgate / Ka Khyrdop was published whilst he was in college. His poetry has been published in Indian Literature of Sahitya Akademi, Poetry Chronicle, The Telegraph Sunday Magazine, Dancing Earth, and Anthology and Contemporary Poetry from the North-East, among others. Eminent writer Khushwant Singh introduced Paul to a wider audience through a review of Shillong-based poets in The Sunday Observer in 1995. His latest work A Return to Poetry has received good reviews from critics. Paul Lyngdoh was also inducted as part of the prestigious Khasi Author’s Society in 2020. His next publication, a short story collection, will be out soon. He is currently a minister in the state government of Meghalaya.
