Meeran Chadha Borwankar (IPS retd) was a former Director General, Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D), and the National Crime Records Bureau. She was chief of Maharashtra Prisons, Commissioner of Police, Pune; DIG CBI; chief of Aurangabad & Satara police, among others. Meera has a Ph.D in ‘Organizational Management’, and is a Hubert H. Humphrey Fellow, University of Minnesota, USA. A Law graduate, she is a member of the ‘Core Advisory Group on Criminal Justice System Reforms of the National Human Rights Commission. She is also on various boards. She has authored three books, Leaves of Life, Inspector Chougule, and Madam Commissioner. She is regular contributor to various publications.
