Madhurima Baruah is a retired civil service official and author. She has 13 publications to her credit, including essays, novels, short stories, travelogues and translations. She was honored with Radha Rukmini Award by Moran Students’ Union for her first novel Radha Rukuni based on Muwamaria Mutiny against the Ahom dynasty in 18th century Assam. Her story Shipa (Roots) was selected in Write Assamese project undertaken by the British Council. It was also among 10 stories translated into English for the story collection A Fistful of Moonlight. Also a cultural activist, Madhurima Baruah has served as jury member in a couple of international film festivals in Europe and Asia.
