Krishna Shastri Devulapalli is a humour writer, columnist, screenwriter, novelist, playwright and illustrator/cartoonist. His novels include Ice Boys in Bell-bottoms, a 1970s bildungsroman, Jump Cut, a serio-comic thriller set in the Tamil film industry, and the comic The Sentimental Spy: The Family Bond. His other works include a humorous epistolary play Dear Omana: Notes on how to be a Literary Sensation, with the backdrop of the Indian publishing industry, and a book of non-fiction How to be a Literary Sensation. He has co-edited Madras On My Mind: A City in Stories, and writes regularly for The Hindu, Deccan Chronicle, and Scroll, among other journals. His play Dear Omana has been staged in Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. Together with his writer wife, Chitra Viraraghavan, he has started an independent publishing house, Running Head. Their first book Roses In The Fire Of Spring: Better Roses For A Warming World & Other Garden Adventures has sold all over the world to critical acclaim.
