Kishor Mohan Bhattacharyya, a social activist and an academician, has been working for persons with disability for nearly four decades. Currently an Assistant Professor of History in Gauhati University, he has presented 48 papers in various national and international seminars. He has authored 14 books and was awarded Junior Fellowship for Literature by the Ministry of Human Resources, Government of India. He was involved in the process of page and word counting of Braille version of Hemkosh, which is one of the oldest and most widely used Assamese dictionary. He was a board member of the National Trust under Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. He won the Presidential Award as Best Individual in 2008. He is also a qualified vocalist and tabla player.
