Kiran Khalap is an advertising professional, motivational speaker, teacher, and an author. He has published three books of fiction – Halfway Up the Mountain, Two Pronouns and a Verb, and Black River Run and read from them in London, Singapore, New York and Beijing. He won the Indo-UK Short Story Writing Award in 1995. Started with teaching, he made a mark in the field of advertising. He co-founded Chlorophyll, a brand consultancy which has over 400 brands. A rock climber himself, Kiran Khalap facilitated contest of Bouldering, a form of rock climbing, in Navi Mumbai in 2016 and 2017. Kiran also has a species of spider named after him, Thelcticopis kirankhalapi.
