Indrani Laskar is a Civil Servant in government of Assam, an author, translator, poet and short story writer. Her translations into Assamese include Franz Kafka’s Diaries and Letter to His Father, Jhumpa Lahiri’s Lowland, Amitav Ghosh’s Gun Island and Shadow Lines, and Dalai Lama’s autobiography My Land and My People. Rang Birang Xilalur Xadu is her collection of stories for children. Jiban Bichitra and Kitap.com are two books of collected articles written by her on art, literature and culture. Inner space and Katherine Diary are two collections of translated short stories from Assamese to English. She has also translated Cotton College, the first campus novel of India, from Assamese to English. She has two books translated from Bengali to Assamese. Parallel Lines is her collection of English poems.
