Gautam Hazarika is a Singapore based ex-banker, who now explores World War II stories in Southeast Asia. He focusses on lesser-known stories such as Indian army, INA, anti-Japanese resistance and war crimes trials. He also delivers lectures at museums, WW-II conferences and literary festivals in India, Singapore, and UK. His first book The Forgotten Indian Prisoners of World War II launched in 2025 brings to fore the humane stories of the WW-II soldiers.
