Arpana Konwar is a linguist, writer, and academic profoundly committed to the study and preservation of Assamese literature and its linguistic heritage. Throughout her career, she has worked to bridge the gap between creative expression and scholarly rigour, striving to enrich the understanding of the language, literature, and diverse cultures of Northeast India. She has books and dictionaries to her credit. Bahubhashik Abhidhan (Multilingual Dictionary: Assamese-English-Bodo-Mising) and Multilingual Glossary (Assamese-Bodo-Mising-Tai-English) being two major ones while her books Karbi: The People and the Language , and The Linguistic Study of the North-East Languages are major works in English.
