He is a poet, editor, translator and the author of a dozen poetry books, including Celestial, Stray Poems, Monsoon, The Magic of Madagascar and The Alphabets of Latin America. He is the editor of The Book of Bihari Literature, The Bloomsbury Book of Great Indian Love Poems, Capitals, New Brazilian Poems and The Bloomsbury Anthology of Great Indian Poems. His poems have appeared in over a hundred literary magazines, including Poetry Salzburg Review and Asia Literary Review. His Earth Anthem has been translated into over 150 languages.
He received the SAARC Literary Award (2013) and was invited to record his poems at the Library of Congress, Washington DC, in 2018. His translations of Kalidasa’s Meghaduta and Ritusamhara from Sanskrit won him the KLF Poetry Book of the Year Award (2020–21). His translation of Magahi novel Fool Bahadur has been published by Penguin Random House, India.
Abhay K is the author of a memoir and a dozen poetry books. His 100 Great Indian Poems has been translated and published into Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, Malagasy and French. His translations include New Brazilian Poems, Kalidasa’s Meghaduta and Ritusamhara. He has translated the first Magahi novel Fool Bahadur into English. Several research papers have been published on his poetry. His poems have appeared in over 100 international literary journals. He was honoured with SAARC Literary Award for his contribution to contemporary South Asian Poetry. His call for a common Earth Anthem has been termed by UNESCO as a creative and inspiring thought that would contribute to bringing the world together. An Earth Anthem penned by him has been translated into over 150 languages. He also wrote a SAARC Song and Moon Anthem. Over 100 people from different walks of life read and recited it on Earth Day celebrations in 2021. He has read his poems at several literary platforms across the world. His poems have been translated into several European, African and Asian languages. His writings on digital diplomacy, poetry, art and global democracy have appeared several leading newspapers. His artworks have been exhibited in France, Russia, Brazil and Madagascar among other places.
