Krishnan Srinivasan was an Indian diplomat from 1959 to 2002, as ambassador to five countries, foreign secretary and Commonwealth deputy secretary-general. Thereafter he was Visiting Fellow at Cambridge, Leiden, Uppsala, ASCI Hyderabad and the Azad Institute Kolkata, during which he published nine books on world politics. He has also written eight novels featuring Somali ambassador Michael Marco’s adventures in Africa, USA, the Middle East, Britain, Sweden and India. His latest novel published, in 2025, is Kolkata Crimes, an Ambassador Marco and Detective Koel Deb casebook
