Major General Anil P Dere (Retd) is the director & CEO of The Peninsula Studios. He is the producer of “Victory through Vision”, an audio-visual chronicle of Bangladesh’s Liberation War in 1971. He was commissioned into 62 Cavalry, in June 1981 and later commanded the same Regiment.
He is a graduate of the Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, the Higher Command Course, Army War College, Mhow, the National War College, Washington DC, USA and the National Defence College, New Delhi. He has held important command, staff, and instructional appointments. His command appointments include command of an Independent Armoured Brigade and an Infantry Division in the Western Theatre. He was later the Commander of the Senior Command Wing, Army War College, Mhow and Senior Faculty, at the NDC. He retired after a distinguished career spanning over 36 years in January 2018. Post his retirement, he provided leadership at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai.
He is a keen sportsman and is credited with creating financially robust properties in sports, in particular golf and was the Captain of the Delhi Golf Club.
