Former Rear Admiral of Indian Navy, Santosh Kumar Gupta, is best known for commanding the White Tigers while embarked on INS Vikrant during the 1971 India-Pakistan war. For his display of leadership and bravery, he was awarded the Maha Vir Chakra. During his service, he commanded four ships, two air squadrons and the Naval Academy.
